On extensive units the feeding of a
ration in roll form is particularly important. Additional protein can boost the production
of colostrum, so important during the first few hours after birth. Lamb weights and
viability will also be improved. |

Mineral levels in Heygates
sheep feeds are carefully controlled to guard against mineral disorders. Magnesium has
been limited to 0.45% in all ewe rations but will be increased at turnout to 0.75% to
combat staggers. Vitamin and trace element Inclusions are generous for overall flock
health. Zinc and selenium levels have been enhanced using highly available Zinc Bioplex
and Selplex 50. These specific trace elements are associated with hoof condition and lamb
viability. |
